Property transaction levels remain relatively stable, figures show

The number of transactions for properties for sale in the UK worth
more than £40,000 has remained relatively consistent, figures
have revealed.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has released statistics today
(December 21st 2010), which show that the number of sales on
residential houses in Britain in November 2010 was 77,000.
This is only a slight dip from the previous month's figures of
80,000 and matches with the transaction levels for September, which
also came in at 77,000.
The findings indicate that while there may be uncertainty over the
property market, potential homeowners continue to purchase houses
for sale in the UK, with there being only a small drop in figures
between November 2009 (83,000) and the following year.
HMRC's results back findings from the National Association of
Estate
Agents, released earlier this month, which showed that there
has been an increase in the number of people registered with an
estate
agent recently.
