Estate agent registrations 'remain high'

The number of people registering their interest in buying a
property with UK estate agents remained high in April, according to
the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA).
It was suggested in the organisation's Housing Market Survey for
the month that - despite a slight drop on March's figures - the
level was high compared to the last 12 months.
UK estate agents had an average of 265 people registered with them
in April, the NAEA stated, at a time Nationwide Building Society
recorded the average house price at just over £151,000.
Patterns reported by the professional body for estate agents
indicate that interest is returning to the market, which may be
good news for those looking to sell their homes.
Analysing the last two months, the NAEA said: "It is clear that
there has been a resurgence of interest in the property market,
probably reflecting both an increased confidence in the future of
the market and a belief that house prices are bottoming out."
